BION CENTER PROJECT

The project aims to create a centre for the research into and treatment of children and adolescents in Maracaibo City, Venezuela. The duration of the project is five years, in which it plans to promote the development of psychoanalysis as a science and as a clinical practice through work with local and international analysts, who will teach, train and run seminars. The promotion of a culture of psychoanalysis and of professional psychoanalytical training oriented towards children is seen as crucial in Maracaibo, where 60% of the population are children. After the initial five-year period, the centre aims to be self-sustaining, generating income from conferences, training and other activities as well as internal projects such as the creation of a Cybercafe and information centre. The project aims to obtain funds from local businesses for a series of socially assigned projects as well as from donations to be sought from internationally represented companies in the city.
